Type species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Kylinia is Kylinia rosulata Rosenvinge.

This name is currently regarded as a taxonomic synonym of Acrochaetium parvulum (Kylin) Hoyt

Type information
Lectotype locality: Väderöarna, Kristineberg, Halland (Athanasiadis 1996: 19). Lectotype: the original illustration of Kylin (1906, fig. 9), in the absence of material. (epitype) (Dixon & Irvine 1977: 105).

Origin of species name
Adjective (Latin), very small (Stearn 1973).
