Nomenclatural note
"Grallatoria tingitana (Schousboe ex Bornet) I.A. Abbott. Following Abbott's (1976: 143) taxonomic conclusions according which the genus Callithamniella is a later synonym of Grallatoria, G. tingitana was recorded by Ballesteros & Romero (1982: 741), Ballesteros (1983: 47) and Furnari (1984: 365, Tab. 3: XVIII). However, later such a synonymy was rarely followed (e.g. see Silva et al., 1996) and, pending further studies, Grallatoria with the species G. reptans M. Howe and G. tanakae (Itono) Athanasiadis is considered distinct from Callithamniella (Guiry & Guiry, 2023)." (Cormaci & al. 2023: 266). - (15 November 2023) - M.D. Guiry
