Type locality: Western Australia, probably near Perth, Australia; (Womersley 1978: 230) Lectotype: Preiss; on Haliptilon; LD; 20679 (Womersley 1998: 407) Notes: Womersley (1998: 407) notes that the type is not located in MEL. According to Womersley (1978: 230), there are isotypes in LD (20679), on Corallina, selected as lectotype), TCD (on Laurencia), and S (on Corallina.
