(1996: 169), the name Gracilaria corticata has been misapplied to this species by Børgesen (1933b: 124 (at least in part)); the name Gracilaria corticatavar. ramalinoides has been misapplied to this name by Børgesen (1933b: 124-125 (at least in part)) and Børgesen (1935: 56 (at least in part)); the name Gracilaria multipartita has been misapplied to this species by G. Murray (1887: 27) and Jadin (1935: 165)
