The type species (holotype) of the genus Euzoniella is Euzoniella incisa (J.Agardh) Falkenberg.

This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Dasyclonium flaccidum (Harvey) Kylin.

Adjective (Latin), marked with two-coloured spots, having the centre of one colour surrounded by a broad ring of another (Stearn 1973).
