Nomenclatural note
When G.Mazoyer (1938: 326) described Ceramium strictum var. zostericola f. acrocarpum, she quoted as basionym Hormoceras acrocarpum Kützing 1863: XIII, 1. But, since that name is illegitimate being a later homonym of Hormoceras acrocarpum Zanardini ex Frauenfeld (1855: 42), Ceramium strictum f. acrocarpum has to be accredited to only G.Mazoyer (Furnari et al., 1999). Furnari et al. (2003) cite the authority for this species as (Feldmann-Mazoyer) G. Furnari. - (11 May 2006) - G.M. Guiry
