Chaetomorpha tortuosa, erroneously attributed to (J. Agardh) Kützing, is illegitimate since Kützing (1849: 346) made an unnecessary change of epithet when transferring Rhizoclonium capillare Kützing to Chaetomorpha (Furnari et al., 1999, errata corrige; Brodie, Maggs & John, 2007: 142). - (11 May 2006) - G.M.
