Nomenclatural note
The binomial Myrionema leclancherii is often attributed to %u201C(Chauvin) Harvey%u201D but the supposed basionym, Rivularia leclancherii, is a manuscript name communicated by Lenormand, and was not published by Chauvin, as acknowledged by Harvey (1846, pl. XLI A). - (07 February 2012) - M.D. Guiry
Taxonomic note
According to Fletcher (1987) this species is a synonym of Chilionema ocellatum (Kützing) Kuckuck; however, Kim (2010: 80) includes it in synonymy with Myrionema strangulans. - (11 May 2006) - G.M. Guiry
