Liagora leprosa J.Agardh
Type locality: Vera Cruz, Mexico (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 124). Type: LD Herb. Alg. Agardh 32285 Notes: Dawson (1953: 38) notes holotype not designated but probably represented by the original Liebmann specimen in the Agardhian Herbarium, Botanical Museum, University of Lund, Sweden.
Origin of species name
Adjective (Latin), ?like a wild parsnip.

According to Børgesen (1942b: 32) (Silva et al. (1996), the name Liagora distenta has been misapplied to this species by Dickie (1874b: 195)
