The type species (holotype) of the genus Aglaozonia is Aglaozonia parvula (Greville) Zanardini.

This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Cutleria multifida (Turner) Greville.

Adjective (Latin), creeping, prostrate and rooting; arching and then rooting (Stearn 1973).
