This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Titanophycus validus (Harvey) Huisman, G.W.Saunders & A.R.Sherwood

Taxonomic notes
According to Børgesen (1949a: 28-29), the name Liagora fragilis has been misapplied to this species by De Toni & Levy (1888: 65); Jadin (1935: 162), Børgesen (1942: 37). John et al. (2004) cite Liagora fragilis Zanardini as a synonym of this species.

Habitat notes
on rock or coral at depths ranging from intertidal pools down to 15 m (Huisman 2002). - (9 Apr 2014) - Wendy Guiry
