Type locality: Marine Laboratory, Sagami Province (Kanagawa Prefecture), Japan (Woelkerling et al. 2005: 178). Lectotype: Y.Yendo; 1899; no habitat data on type. TRH A21-1318 (Woelkerling et al. 2005: 176, 178).
