Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Palisada corallopsis (Montagne) Sentíes, M. T. Fujii & Díaz-Larrea.

Nomenclatural note
This genus is treated as masculine according to the proposal to add -phycus to the two exceptions (-anthus and -chilus) in Art. 62.2 of I.C.B.N., accepted during the XVI International Botanical Congress (St. Louis, Missouri, 26-30 July 1999) (Furnari et al., 1999, citing Barrie & Greuter, 1999). John et al. (2004) cite the authority for this species as (Mont.) Garbary & J.T. Harper - (11 May 2006) - G.M. Guiry
