This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Hydrocoryne enteromorphoides (Bornet & Flahault) Umezaki & M.Watanabe.

Type locality: Guadeloupe, Caribbean, West Indies; (Silva & al. 1996: 69) LT (fide Geitler in E & P, 1942: 161: (INA 1996) Notes: Guadeloupe I.; Florida: Tongatabu (INA).
