This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Feldmannia mitchelliae (Harvey) H.-S.Kim

Type locality: Nantucket, Massachusetts, U.S.A. (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 568). Type: TCD (Womersley 1987: 52).

Eponomy
Named for Mrs A. Mitchell, an American collector from Cape Cod who sent seaweeds to W.H. Harvey.
