Holotype locality: Beringön, temligen ymnig; något sällskaplig inom sublitoralregionen, fäst på sten; med sporocarpier. [Bering Island, Commander Islands, Russia, pretty abundant, somewhat gregarious in sublitoral zone, attached to the stone; with sporocarps.] (Sutherland et al. 2011: 1141). Holotype: F.R. Kjellman; 14-19 August 1879; UPS (Snow 1899: 1141).
