Type locality: South Bay, Isla Guadalupe, Pacific Mexico (Setchell & Gardner 1930: 151). Holotype: H.L.Mason No. 121; April 1925; "Growing on rocks.". CAS 173635 (Setchell & Gardner 1930: 151). Notes: Dawson (1953: 61) notes transections of the type are on slide 211 in HAHF.
