Type locality: Bahía San Francisco, Esmeraldas, Ecuador; (Taylor 1945: 154) Holotype: W.R. Taylor no. 34-490C; 11 Feb. 1934; Hancock Foundation; (Taylor 1945: 154) Notes: Type dredged in 5.4 m near the northeastern side of Bahía San Francisco. MICH (Boo et al., 2016).
