Type locality: Bahia Agua Verde, Baja California (Gulf); (Dawson 1960: 35) Type: Dawson 550-40; Feb. 12, 1940.; intertidal on a Pinna shell; Herb. A. Hancock foundation (26); (Dawson 1960: 35) Notes: Isotypes are in U.C (745356, 745687). Dawson (1944: 274) notes that the type specimen was found on a shell picked up in middle littoral zone.
