Type locality: "ad oras Indiae orientalis" (India); (Silva & al. 1996: 510) Type: Herb. J. Agardh, LD; 36604-36606 (Nam 1999: 463) Notes: Fujii et al. (2006: 433) and Gil-Rodríguez et al. (2010: 32) cite the type locality as 'ad oras Indiae orientalis' (Indonesia).
