This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Stephanocostis chantaica Genkal & Kuzmina.
Type Information
Type locality: "DDR: In lacu Stechlin dicta prope opp. Rheinsberg, XI-XI-1983, leg. W. SCHEFFJ.ER no. 242. In Herbario Haussknechtio Universitatis Jenae (HJ) conservatur." [Landkreis Oberhavel, Brandenburg, Germany]; (Casper & Scheffler 1986: 296) Notes: "We designate slide No. 242 of the SCHEFFLER Collection (ZIMET Jena, Department of Limnology) as the type slide. The type slide and the material of our collection from which the LM and EM pictures were taken are deposited in the Herbarium Haussknecht (HJ,) Friedrich-Schiller-Universitat Jena (GDR)."
