Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Woloszynskia is Woloszynskia reticulata R.H.Thompson.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Karlodinium veneficum (D.Ballantine) J.Larsen.

Type locality: English Channel (50°02'N, 04°22'W); (Leadbeater & Dodge 1966: 1) Type: 9 July 1958 (isolated) ; (Leadbeater & Dodge 1966: 1) Notes: Type culture no. 207 in Plymouth collection. English Channel: near Plymouth, England (INA).
