This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Bacillosiphon vermicularis (Molinari & Guiry) Molinari & Guiry.
Origin of Species Name
Adjective (Latin), worm-shaped, almost cylindrical and bent in places, marked with irregular waves or bent lines (Stearn 1973).
