Type locality: Magenbay [Magens Bay], St. Thomas Island, Virgin Islands, USA (Maneveldt, van der Merve & Keats 2015: 242). Holotype: TRH A2-101 (Woelkerling et al. 2005: 35). Notes: "Børgesen; Vestindien [as used by Børgesen = Danish West Indies, now the U.S. Virgin Islands]; St. Thomas, Magenbay; ‘fjæren [= the tidal zone]’; 1905-1906; slides 1205-1206; [no other collection data]; pfa: Printz 1929, pl. 53, fig. 9," (Woelkering et al. 2005: 35).
