Nomenclatural notes
"This species was described by Zanardini (1841: 181, pl. II/4) from Istria (Croatia). The name is illegitimate because it is the later homonym of Rytiphlaea pumila C. Agardh taxon inquirendum, a species described by Agardh (1827a: 639). The synonymy with Dasya plana was proposed by J. Agardh (1842: 119) and, subsequently, explicitly indicated by Zanardini himself (1843: 56) as a synonym of "Dasyopsis plana"." (Cormaci & al. 2023: 546). - (11 December 2023) - M.D. Guiry
Illegitimate: priority Rytiphlaea pumila C.Agardh, 1827. - (17 July 2014) - M.D. Guiry
