Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Pseudochlorella signiensis (Friedl & O'Kelly) Darienko & Pröschold.

Type locality: Signy Island, South Orkney Islands, Antarctica; (Friedl & O'Kelly 2002: 383) Holotype: Paul A. Broady; mineral soils and moss cushions; USNM; Resin-embedded cells (Friedl & O'Kelly 2002: 383) Notes: Living material deposited as strain SAG 7.90 in SAG (Göttingen). Epitype: authentic strain (cryopreserved) SAG 7.90 (Darienko et Pröschold in Darienko et al., 2016: 1143).

Habitat
Subaerial: soil (Karsten et al., 2005: 560).
