This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Corynecladia clavata (Sonder) J.Agardh.

According to Womersley (2003: 450), Chondria clavata ß dendroides Harvey 1863, synop.: xviii (nom. nudum) is a synonym of Chondria incrassata (J. Agardh) Gordon-Mills & Womersley. However, on page 462 he cites it as a synonym of Laurencia clavata Sonder 1853. - (16 February 2009) - G.M. Guiry
