Type locality: Isla Claríon, Islas Revillagigedo, México; (Setchell & Gardner 1930: 148) ho: H.L. Mason No. 22; June; "Cast ashore."; CAS; 173614 (Setchell & Gardner 1930: 148) Notes: According to De Clerck (2003), the type locality is Isla Clarion, Baja California, Mexico and the holotype is located in UC (173614). He notes that this is a poorly known species and is only known from the type material.
