Nomenclatural note
Tilden (1901: 254) pointed out that Holden's Hydrcoleum majus was predated by by Hydrocoleum majus Martens 1870 and she proposed this substitute name, but the earlier Martens name was rendered invalid by the introduction of a later starting point date for the group of 1892 thus making Holden's name legitimate. - (02 May 2014) - M.D. Guiry
