According to Millar & Prud'homme van Reine (2005: 546), this represents Gracilaria edulis (S. Gmelin) Silva (1952). According to Gurgel & Fredericq (2004), G. edulis is a synonym of Hydropuntia edulis (S.G. Gmelin) Gurgel & Fredericq 2004.
