Nomenclatural note
"The name Corallina crassa Esper (1789) is effectively and validly published even though it only appears without further text on a plate in the Esper 1789 publication (ICN Art 29.1, 38.7, 38.10). F.D. Ott 1995:8 provides further information on the Esper publication." Woelkerling (pers. comm. 27 Aug 2017). - (15 January 2016) - M.D. Guiry
Taxonomic note
"Lamouroux (1816: 307) treated Corallina crassa Esper as a heterotypic synonym of Halimeda incrassata (Ellis) Lamouroux. The basionym, Corallina incrassata Esper (1768:408, pl. XVII [17], figs 20-27) is also validly published even though there is no formal description, as noted in the Indian Ocean Catalogue (Silva & al. 1996:868)." Woelkerling (pers. comm. 27 Aug 2017).
