This is the type species (holotype) of the genus Flabellina.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Phycoflabellina avachensis (Selivanova & Zhigadlova) M.J.Wynne & C.W.Schneider.

Type locality: "south-eastem coast of Kamchatka, Avacha Gulf, Avacha Bay, Besymyannaya Inlet" [Russia]; (Selivanova & Zhigadlova 2016: 183) Holotype: N.P.
