Nomenclatural note
In the formation of the epithet, the authors sought to employ the Latin surname "Gargiulus" for "Gargiulo": "garguli" is the genitive singular of "gargiulus" as "linnaei" is the genitive singular of "linnaeus". However, the Nomenclature Committee of the ICN has rejected this use of "gargiuli" (Kanchi Gandhi pers. comm., October 2017) and the epithet must be formed in the normal manner by the addition of "i" to "gargiulo". - (20 October 2017)
