Adjective (Latin), south, southern (Stearn 1973).
General Environment
This is a marine species.
Habitat
Not a common species but has been collected in widespread localities from rock, tunicates, jetty piles and as an epiphyte on Cystophora spp., Caulerpa simpliuscula stolons and Amphibolis antarctica; recorded from just below the lowest tide levels down to depths of 60 m (Kraft 1978: 567).
