Type locality: Northern part of the Weddell Sea, Antarctica (60° S, 49° W); (Daugbjerg 2000: 162) Isotype: Dr. Jacob Larsen; December 1988; Surface water. Station 156 (61ºS, 49ºW) is located close to the edge of permanent pack ice and over a water column of 2190 m.; Botanical Museum, Copenhagen; 1569 (Daugbjerg 2000: 162, 161) Notes: Holotype: Fig. 7.
