Type locality: Atlantic Coast of North America (Dawson 1954: 304). Type: Parasitic on Polysiphonia fastigiata. (Dawson 1954: 304). Notes: Dawson (1954: 304) Holotype not designated, and whereabouts of the original material, if extant, unknown to the writer. It is not in the Herbarium at Kew, England.
