Type locality: Switzerland: near Basel; (Vischer 1933: 29, 34) Notes: Lectotype (designated by Darienko & Pröschold 2017): Fig. 11: 3 in Vischer (1933). Epitype (designated by Darienko & Pröschold 2017 in support of iconotype): The authentic strain SAG 467-1 is permanently cryopreserved in a metabolically inactive state (cryopreserved in liquid nitrogen) in the SAG, University of Göttingen, Germany.
