Type Species
The type species (lectotype) of the genus Delesseria is Delesseria sanguinea (Hudson) J.V.Lamouroux.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Craspedocarpus ramentaceus (C.Agardh) Min-Thein & Womersley.
Type Information
Type locality: "Ad litus meridionale Novae Hollandiae. Vidi in coliectione Musaei Parisiensis"; (Agardh 1822: 177) Lectotype: LD; Herb. Agardh, 27352 (Womersley 1994: 425) Notes: Agardh specifically designates as type Fucus N:o B b, Musei Parisiensis, so it peculiar that lectotype in LD has been designated.
