Type locality: "Paramatta R. estuary" (Port Jackson), N.S.W.; (Womersley 1987: 282) Type: Herb. Harvey, TCD; (Womersley 1987: 282) Notes: Alg. Aust. Exsicc. 51. Womersley (1987) also notes that there are isotypes in MEL (15920) and NSW (A2092, A2094).

Eponomy
Named for Charles Moore (1820-1905), brother of David Moore of Dublin, who dredged the original material in the Paramatta River In Sydney.
