Holotype locality: "Ninepin Point, Tasmania, Australia (43°17'S; 147°11.2'E)"; (Lin & Kraft 1999: 129) Holotype: Kraft & Sanderson; 22 December 1992; 9-15 m deep; MELU; K9167 (Lin & Kraft 1999: 129) Notes: Womersley (2003) notes that the holotype (K9167) is cystocarpic and the syntype (K9135) is tetrasporangial and that there are isotypes in MELU and in AD (A68023, A68024).
