CAT2384.
General Environment
This is a freshwater species.
Description
Cells ovoid with hemispherical epi- and hyposome. Length 23-28 microns; width 18-24 microns. Cingulum median and displaced one cingular width. Sulcus narrow, not reaching the antapex. Numerous amphiesmal vesicles present. One yellow-greenish chloroplast radiating from a central pyrenoid complex. U-shaped nucleus in the centre of the cell. Longitudinal striated collar reduced. Tubular pusule situated in pyrenoid cavity.Trichocysts absent. Peduncle present. Resting cysts with smooth and inflated outer wall. Length c 35 microns; width c 28 microns. The apical part truncated, the antapical part indented. Inner wall thin and closely appressed to the rounded cytoplasmic part.
