Type locality: Banana Bay, Kenting National Park, southern Taiwan (21º55.5'N, 120º49.44'E); (Bailey, Gabel & Freshwater 2004: 19) Holotype: S.-M. Lin; 28 March 2002; 1-3 m depth; NMMA; 3-28-2002-BB-ML-Holo (Bailey, Gabel & Freshwater 2004: 19) Notes: Holotype: cystocarpic. Isotypes: tetasporic. Isotypes: LAF, 3-28-2002-BB-Ml-Iso-1~3; NMMA 3-28-2002-BB-ML-Iso-4~7. Habitat: 1-3 m depth; on coral heads or epiphytic on Gelidiopsis repens and some other red algae.
