Nomenclatural note
"It should be noted that Nizamuddin & Godeh (1990: 28), after having described the sequence of formation of periaxial cells up to the stage of 4 periaxial cells, state "There may be further transverse division either of one or two pericentral cells producing 5 or 6 pericentral cells.". We think they probably should have said "There may be further longitudinal (and not transverse) division either of one or two pericentral cells producing 5 or 6 pericentral cells."
