Type locality: Monterey, California, USA; (Woelkerling & al. 2005: 346) Lectotype (designated by Mason 1953: 318): Gibbs; 10.i.1899; no habitat data on type; TRH; B17-2582 (Mason 1953: 318) Notes: "Holotypus: TRH B17-2582, Monterey, California, USA, 10.i.1899, leg. Setchell & Gibbs (Adey et al., 2015: 199)." (Adey et al. 2015: 199). "Mason 1953: 318 indicated that the type is numbered ‘Setchell & Gibbs 3057b’, but this information does not appear on the holotype and is not mentioned in the protologue (Foslie 1907: 14-15)." (Woelkering et al. 2005: 346).
