Type Species
The type species (holotype) of the genus Wollea is Wollea saccata Bornet & Flahault.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Neowollea salina (Chatchawan, Kozlíková, Komárek & Kaštovský) Tawong, Pongcharoen, Pongpadung & Ponza.
Type Information
Type locality: Thailand: Petchaburi Province: Ban Leam District; (Kozlíková-Zapomělová & al. 2016: 48) Holotype: on wet salty soils, sometimes slightly covered by shallow layer of water (in salines, 0–35 ppt); CCALA; 1091 (Kozlíková-Zapomělová & al. 2016: 48) Notes: Not clear if "CCALA 1091" is a preserved specimen or a culture strain. "CCALA" is not explained in the publication.
Origin of Species Name
Adjective A (Latin), saline (Stearn 1973).
