Request PDFDescription: Thallus of single-layered net formed by regular anastomosing of lateral branches at distal edge. Resembles Haloplegma Montagne which differs in having a thallus of several overlapping net-like layers. Gametophytes unknown. Tetrasporangia borne on cells of thallus network, single or in clusters, terminal on branched pedicels, tetrahedrally-divided. Transferred by Schneider from Dasyaceae to Ceramiaceae, and until features of sexual reproduction are claified is tentatively placed in the tribe Compsothamnieae on the basis of apical organization and tetrasporangia.
