Description: Thalli erect, cylindrical branches up to 10 cm high with abundant unilateral polysiphonous branches. Trichoblasts branched, on most segments and in a 1/5 spiral, deciduous leaving prominent scar cells. Polysiphonous, with 4 pericentrals, cortication proximal on axis and branches; sometimes mostly absent. Reproductive structures on lateral branchlets. Cystocarps ovoid, unilateral on branchlet, with short polysiphonous stalk or almost sessile. Male capitula replace trichoblasts, unilateral on branchlet, cylindrical with monosiphonous stalks. Tetrasporangia 1 per segment, in a spiral sequence in distal part of branchlet.
