Description: Cell loricate, epiphytic. Hyaline lorica fastened by a thin band round an algal filament. Lorica very similar to that of Chrysopyxis, except this lorica has two lateral openings instead of one apical, just as in Chrysoamphitrema. Cell lacks flagella but two thin rhizopodia extend through the two pores, surrounded by some small spherical bodies thought to be produced from the protoplast. One parietal chloroplast. Reproduction and stomatocysts not observed. Found in a shallow freshwater pool in Canada.
