Description: Cells loricate, colonial; about 8 cells arranged as a crown on a common stalk. Cell colorless with 2 heterokont flagella. Reproduction and stomatocysts unknown. This freshwater genus has been found only a few times in Europe and needs further examination. Some doubt exists as to whether it belongs in the Chrysophyceae.
