Description: Cells rhizopodial, solitary, surrounded by a thick-walled brown lorica, flat with an opening or an oblique neck on the top. Lorica fixed on algae or other substrate. The cell is colorless, without flagella, but with a simple or branched rhizopodium emerging through the porus. Reproduction by division, the daughter cells leave the lorica as small amoebae. No flagellated stages known. Stomatocysts known, located in the lorica mouth. In freshwater, epiphytic; found a few times in Czechoslovakia and Belgium.
